2024 Still Standing
Women's Health Empowerment Luncheon

Still Standing, a women’s health empowerment luncheon, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 12, at the Lexington Municipal Conference Center.

 

The event brings awareness to health and societal issues that negatively affect women. This year’s focus is domestic violence. The keynote speaker will be Naida Rutherford, Richland County Coroner.

 

The luncheon will also include a panel of mental health professionals. Panelists include:

The luncheon concludes with the anticipation of the “Shoe Strut” competition, which encourages women to “stand taller, feel stronger, and walk longer.”

Girl Get Up

Girl, Get Up Society is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that aims to help women and teen girls facing mental health challenges cope with life's problems and emotional upsets.

 

The programs are designed to be a catalyst that helps women and teen girls overcome anxiety, depression, postpartum depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and suicide ideation. Learn more about Girl, Get Up positive impact, and join them in creating a culture of hope, healing, and happiness.

Since 2011, our Still Standing luncheon has:

  • Impacted more than 400 women in Richland and Lexington Counties;

  • Increased awareness of health and societal issues such as Alzheimer’s, Breast Cancer, Domestic Violence, HIV/AIDS, and Diabetes; and

  • Contributed proceeds to benefit organizations such as the Juvenile Diabetes Association, Leeza’s Care Connection, and Han​ds Up Against Lupus.
