2023 Still Standing
Women's Health Empowerment Luncheon

Still Standing, a women’s health empowerment luncheon, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 7, at the Capital City Club in Columbia.

The event brings awareness to health and societal issues that negatively affect women. This year’s focus is depression and anxiety among African American women. The virtual keynote speaker and special guest will be Jada Samuel, Miss South Carolina 2023.

The luncheon will also include a panel of mental health professionals. Panelists include:

  • Dr. Raynia McGee, Psychiatrist; First Presbyterian Christian Counseling Center

  • Rev. Olivia Tate, Minister and Licensed Professional Counselor; Flowing Well Therapy Center

  • Ashley Young, Licensed Professional Counselor; Everyday Wellness

The luncheon concludes with the anticipation of the “Shoe Strut” competition, which encourages women to “stand taller, feel stronger, and walk longer.”

A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to Girl, Get Up Society. Secure your ticket today!
